Is This Yours?
You have twelve workdays to prove that you can run a perfectly
ordinary lost-and-found desk.
Compare each claimant’s story with the available evidence. Return an
item to its owner, hold it for investigation, reassign it to someone
who needs it more, or remove it from the registry entirely. Every
ruling changes your storage capacity, public trust, and daily
processing target.
At first, the work is simple: umbrellas, keys, wallets, and other
things people leave behind.
Then someone loses a job.
Someone else loses a name.
Before long, the office is accepting relationships, memories,
tomorrow’s weather, entire districts—and perhaps you.
As the queue grows, you will be offered policies and automation
tools designed to make the work easier. They improve efficiency,
learn from your decisions, and gradually gain the authority to
decide what ownership means without you.
At the end of your probation, the system will review everything you
did and issue a personalized employment judgment.
